I read most of it, and I learned that she wants us to trust our guts. Not what I expected, more geared to police work or business. In the end, not worth my time.
This would be a great book if the author didn't spend half of it raving about how great she is.
I lost count how many times Janine Driver refers the reader back to her first book giving the impression it was good and this follow up was to capitalize on it. I didn't find any new information, it was difficult to follow because she writes like she talks, as if you already know what the information is. There are many other books available that can teach you how to detect a liar or to watch for certain body language..choose any one of them and you'll be way ahead of anything gleamed from this book. I really wanted to like it because Driver can be an entertaining panel guest on cable TV but I just couldn't.
If you need help learning how to uncover lies and deceit, this is good resource to do just that. It takes practice but I feel there are excellent tips here to improve skills in deceit detection in the workplace as well as in every day social interactions.This is especially useful for those in management or supervisory positions.
You're instincts are good and you can read people pretty well. You "just know" when sometimes lying, right? Take those skills from basic to FBI-level.Learn more about a liar's body language, speech patterns, and even interrogation techniques. A great book and an easy read.
Great for learning people and lies. I’d recommend for everyone for personal and professional use. I will probably will read multiple times a year
I like how Janine emphasizes more than just the standard body language signals and advises you to get a baseline first and then look for the clusters of hot spots that need to be examined more. I also appreciate that she reminds the reader that hot spots may show you their is deception but not necessarily what the deception is. This does not make you a mind reader.
A fascinating subject over all, and presented in an amusing manner. I was primarily interested in learning how to pick up on the cues lying individuals may unknowingly betray in the work place, but have found the information useful in daily interactions.
