I need not to comment about Salgado's works, as always, its a solid one. Physically the book is quite large and heavy which may create a problem of dented edges during shipping. The paper choice and print quality are superb!

Great book

I am currently a Masters level student who is taking a Governmental Accounting course. I have found this text to be somewhat confusing. The chapters and the information are very detailed however, the study questions introduce new terms and are hard to follow. This makes for a complicated and frustrating process for anyone who has not had a previous accounting course. I understand that there are not many books out there on this topic. However, a study guide or even the assistance of a glossary and some consistency in phrasing questions to be similar to the text would help. If I can't understand what the question is asking how am I to know if I understand what I thought I just read. The lack of pictures and graphics does not bother me and the blue ink while hard to get used to is easier on my eyes. The Powerpoint presentations were also helpful.

Like others have said, this book is awful. Plain and simple. Unorganized, laughable at best index, terrible examples, and the list goes on and on. Wouldn't even get it if it was a required text for class, unless of course you have assigned homework problems from the book. The authors should be ashamed of themselves.

I am not sure why the other reviewers had problems with this book. I actually found it to be quite easy to read and understandble in its explanations of terminology. I work for a software company which sells a budgeting tool. Since realigning over to our public sector division, I decided to buy this book in order to hone my governmental accounting skills. My accounting degree certainly helped and this books assumes a minimal set of accounting skills. The problems were quite helpful in reinforcing the concepts.

I just finished a Governmental Accounting class that used this textbook. It is by far the worst book I have had in 4 years of college. The examples are horrible. There is no color. Most accounting authors try to make the material interesting. This is a book that will turn potential accounting majors away from the field.

Having never done one (but with one on the horizon), would guess that most searches are unique enough that any attempt at comprehensiveness would be folly.I imagine that most searches (read: small churches) would benefit greatly from this book merely because it points out so many nuances and reality checks in the search process. Likewise, the deliberate intentional search structure offered in the book will be invaluable to this group as they are those least likely to be in a position to hire professional assistance.While it does not impact the 5 star rating, I have to be honest and say I was disappointed with the editing. For example, there are a couple of instances where virtually identical paragraphs appear within a page or two of each other.

As one would expect for a handbook, Search includes very practical steps and tips to a successful pastor search process. However, the author goes a step further to address the spiritual, emotional, and relational aspects of such an important endeavor. From starting off in prayer, to setting a solid foundation before interviewing candidates, to how to welcome your new pastor and family to the church...this is a very helpful tool.

This is a great book for anyone serving on a search committee for a pastor. Many helpful tips and great advice to guide in a pastoral search. I highly recommend it.

This book is great resource for pastor search committees. It is an easy read filled with best practices learned from assisting hundreds of churches. This book provides a helpful plan and roadmap for finding a pastor. It makes the pastor search process understandable and manageable. I highly recommend this book and will be using it in my work as a church consultant.

This is probably the best book out there. Be aware: it's a kind of infomercial for his company. But there is plenty of very helpful information, even if you are not hiring a company to search for you.

Very useful in pastor search process - bought paper copy also for better access to forms

In the very early stages of pastor search, this book provides the framework, sample questions & templates. It is written with a beautiful mix of Scripture, ecperience and practical advice.

Amazing resource for search teams! Having been in a position to make critical hires within the churches I served, I would have loved to had this tool in my toolbox. Inspired thought meshed with practical application, this is a must read for any team finding themselves on the brink of a search or already entrenched in the process. Definite 5 stars!
