The work connects things that just don't get connected in physics.The book doesn't explain more than physics, but does provide intriguing insights that go beyond physics.Simply brilliant.
This book makes some very grandiose claims which it does not fulfill, it has a number of editing problems, and it occasional has the style of a car salesman trying to sell you on their ideas. Despite all these flaws, I am sure that they are on to something. While I doubt they have found the final answers, the world is most certainly made of waves not particles. The problems with the point particles have been papered over so many times that we almost forget about them. Right now there a number of books pointing out that physics seems to have gotten off track and it may be the result of the statistical point particle interpretation of matter. The wave theory of matter solves a number of problems as this book clearly explains, such as the uncertainty principle, the statistical interpretation of Schroedinger’s equation, wave-particle duality, spin, etc. The book presents a very compelling model for the electron, which is its biggest strength. It presents an interesting argument for why the Universe is flat. It admits that it does not have a good mathematical model for the proton. I found its explanation of gravity was superficial and I did not see how it was necessarily consistent with its model of the electron. I also did not find its explanation of photons or EM waves compelling and I wish it would have provided an explanation for the pair of photons produced with an electron-positron annihilation. I read this book, I did not study it, so my impressions are just that. When I went to grad school in physics, I was much more comfortable with a wave theory of matter than the statistical point-particle interpretation. This book shows that there is some serious work being done in this area. The book also provides some insight into the historical debates over the point particle interpretation, which I wish they would have spent even more time on. Well worth the read.
Although not a scientist, I have always been interested in Physics, especially what may be called Atomic or Particle physics. In addition it has always surprised me how much theoretical bias exists in this area. This book presents an experimentally valid model called the Wave Structure of Matter or WSM, which has been suggested by many respected scientific thinkers of our time (Schrodinger among them), but our scientific community still clings to the "little bits of stuff" approach that yields so many apparently unsolvable side issues. Well in any case,its a very good book for guys like me, but I think I would have liked to hear more about the theoretical basis of why this model has not been more widely accepted. A hardy thanks to Milo Wolff for the opportunity to get a (beginners)view of such an important step in modern Physics...Zopa..
