I loved these books so much, looking back I almost think that "Bad Boy" is an understatement. Zane is a man, not a "bad boy," and an amazing one at that. If you're looking for a sweet romance, this is not it, so please don't read these books and then be upset about the subject matter. I've been seeing a lot of this lately where the book description goes above and beyond about what you're about to read and meanwhile the reader is "disgusted" and "offended." Why hurt the author when you didn't do your due diligence? Simply don't finish the book, right?Ok, rant over, I digress. First of all, Dahlia Fury is a fantastic name for a heroine and Zane is an equally powerful name for the "hero" or anti-hero if you'd prefer to call him that. This was a COMPLETE romance in my opinion because you had undeniable attraction, emotional baggage, enemies to lovers element, story arc in terms of HOW they got together, and not just insta-lust although those books have their benefits too, a major conflict, and then a resolution that results in not your usual HEA. I loved both characters and the minor characters as well. I cared about all of them which is rare sometimes in a romance about "bad boys," but this worked on all levels for me. I could go on and on... and the odd part was that I just read the author's Nanny and the Beast (and I LOVE a good Beauty and the Beast story) but I felt it lacking. I was hesitant about reading this, especially getting the set, but I was blown away. So much more emotion, character development, sympathy for the anti-hero and why he was so "bad" (I admit some readers have a hard time having a mafioso as a book boyfriend but this guy fits the bill), etc. etc. Please give these a try, you won't regret it (that is, you have something against bad boy mafia books in which case, don't bother ;)).

I almost stopped reading after the 5th page. I couldn't get past the single quotations instead of double quoatations for dialogue. It was just jarring on top of the present tense writing style, and the efforts to not use "says" Example:‘Just cancel one of them,’ I suggest reasonably.‘You want me to lie to Zane?’ she asks incredulously.‘If that’s what his name is,’ I reply coolly.‘I’ll do the dishes for a whole month,’ she declares suddenly.Whenever I start a book and see that, it seems very amateur. So, I almost quit, but surely, this author is good because of how many books she has out and how many are so highly rated. So, I pushed through, and I'm glad I did. While it first left me disgusted because the antihero, Zane, basically sexually assaults the h, I found myself needing to see if he could be redeemed. On top of that, the h was totally fine with being sexually assaulted and by the man her roomate/friend is in love with. I was certain I'd read this and lose all hope for womankind. But it surprised me. I actually grew to admire Dahlia, and I saw deeper into Zane's character. While I will never condone sexual assault, I grew to respect him and his love that takes forever to finally be clear. I think the ending dragged a bit, but I appreciate that her recovery wasn't rushed. Though, I will say, *spoiler* coming out of a coma for over a year, I think, that you could just go to a concert. And then i suppose have sex the next day. And it was a bit gross he touched and tasted her when she was in a coma, then went and used a male vibrator to get off. That was just gross, but I haven't been in a situation like that, so I'm trying to let my feelings go about it. Still gross though. Lol And the single quotes and writing style either grew on me enough I could read it normally, but I'd still stumble every once in a while. I'm curious now if this is something that other books have. So I'd say if you want a story that angers you right away and then can kinda redeem itself, give it a shot. I ended up really enjoying it and feeling content with the ending. Not an amazing story, but still nice.

Wow. This is my favorite work from Georgia Le Carre since The Billionaire Banker series. A favor for a friend causes Dahlia Fury to meet Zane(Aleksandr Malenkov) and as they say; the rest is history. Dahlia is smart and spunky. Zane is dark, menacing and broken by horrific childhood traumas. There is a certain amount of predictability to these books, but also some beautiful and heartbreaking surprises. There are somethings in these books that will not appeal to some. WARNING: Books contain spousal and child abuse, what some may view as forced consent and sexual assault. I myself loved these books and highly recommend them. Dark, raw and sexy. An emotionally heartbreaking and in the end uplifting story of the power of love.

These books could be classified as smut reading but damn I loved Zane and Dahlia’s story all the same. There’s just something about those stories of an alpha male finding the woman who is weakness. Zane has deep emotional scars that caused him to get a thick protective shell early in life. Dahlia is simply going through life when one favor for her sweet friend changes her life drastically. You get to see their love grow and root for both of them to find a way to be together. There was a twist I wasn’t expecting but it just adds to story of their love and it turns out beautifully. Not what I consider to be a traditional mafia romance but it’s still a great read. These books have pain, love, healing, and HEAT!

Dahlia is a strong woman. Zane is the kind of man who takes what he wants no matter what. If the answer is not the one he wants, then Zane creates situations where the choices are limited. Life or death? I really disliked Zane at the start but as I read more about his character I began to change my mind. Just as Dahlia does as she learns there is more to this sexy man with an iron will who bends to no one. The only reason I didn't give this a five rating was there were a few editing issues. Otherwise great books.
